Painted Nails

Painted Nails continues to explore Daisy Jarrett's interest in themes of domesticity and womanhood. Like many of Jarrett's imagery, this work is based on photos that the artist has found on Instagram and explores questions concerning the impact of social media on body image. Jarrett has begun to explore screenprinting techniques and has created this monoprint by painting directly onto the screen. Due to the nature of this method, she never truly knows how it will come out as a final print and believes the happy accidents is what makes the prints unique.
